215 HP Injectors

I have a 1994 12v, 160 hp pump. I saw some 215 hp injector for sale out of a 1998. I mainly just tow,. How would these work on my truck. I think he is asking 150 for them. My other mods on listed in my sig. Thanks, Sonny

That is cheap if they are in good shape I would jump on those right away and yes they should be fine with your set up.

I have a question for you if you dont mind. How hard was it to switch from the auto to manual? Also how expensive if you dont mind(just a rough estimate).

I added the 215's gained power lowered egt's and less smoke well worth the money.

215's are great injectors to upgrade an auto 12 valve with.

Thanks for the replies. Someone else has the injectors on hold but if it falls through I'll buy them and look for some more if they sale.

CumminsDriver, I bought the truck with the 5-sp already installed by the previous owner. He is a top mechanic and also does custom conversions with motors and trannys etc. The truck was his daily driver and really well cared for. I bought it last Fall. It has only a little over 100K on it. Zero problems for me so far. Next big project $$ I am going to have it painted.

5-speed

Your welcome, The only thing that annoys me a little me about the 5 -speed is it has a gap between 3-4th gear. Does anyone else notice this or is it just me? I would think the 6- speed maybe would be a better choice if you wanted to spend more. The one 6-sp I drove did'nt have that gap. It was a nice tranny with effortless shifting.

YES! That is a horrible gap. Its a pain in the butt. Dads 98 5 speed thats stock has that horrible gap, and its just a pain, but i would think with any kind of good mod(Fuel Plate) that it wouldnt be near as aggrovating. My truck has a lot more low end than dads truck with the plate, so i think it would do a lot better, but it is still a pain pulling something with it.

Eric, What fuel plate do you have to get your dyno numbers? Mine is also a 1994 but with a #5 TST plate. I always wondered what it would truely dyno at compared to what the TST site says about the #5 plate. Thanks , Sonny

Well; its a city diesel brand of fuel plate, and was put in before i got the truck, but i have been told it was about the equivelant of a #6 fuel plate from the guy who put it in. BUT, looking at dyno #'s its closer to the #5, so that what i usually call it. I thought it dynoed pretty good myself for no more than whats done to it. Thats about a 100hp rear wheel gain, and about a 2535-250ft lb of torque gain at the rear wheels. Pretty good in my book, and it runs pretty good i think. I would love to have some good injectors, but my tranny wont hold it as it is, so that would be a waist of money. I guess if i ever want to do any more to it, a new TC will have to be put in(aftermarket), but overall i love it .

The big gap between 3rd & 4th gear is about a 44% difference in effective gear ratio which is why the gear spliiting industry is in the 20 - 22 % range to address the big drop off in rpms between gears.
