The front end on the truck, I hope is not for real. Ugly in my opinion from what I can see.

Anyway there is a bunch more info on were diesels will end up at www.Allpar.com

Durango will get one (V-6) and as you mentioned, a V-8 in the 1500. The real
trucks will still keep the inline 6, cummins I hope!

That V-8 CTD could be a torque monster, No?
Or is it plausible that the bean counters at DC see all the fancy marketing the Ford folks are doing for the Power stroke and needed a financial answer to the Ford marketing program?

I repeat... the V8(5.6L) is for the 1500... the 6.7L I-6 will remain in the 2500/3500/4500/5500 trucks...

Thats right, a V-8 diesel for light duty automotive applications only.. Hmmm, wait a minute, what do the other brands use? Ahhh, coincidence..

well if you remember back in late 70s and early eighties GM had diesels from the chevette and luv/isuzu to malibu v-6 and large body 5.7 as well that was platform that launched 6.2 in trucks alot of half tons ran 6.2s as long as you didnt mind 0-60 times of 24 seconds werent that bad I had a few that went over 200k and got over 25 mpg.looking back they were junk compared to the 5.9 B motor.but seeing as daimler has alot of diesel background with some flying amg cars and bluetec it seems natural to put them in lighter vehicles.to bad the early cars engines albeit gas conversions didnt perform well.Otherwise we all might be running on fueloil. I got my first oil burner in 85 and have owned them since.

I like how some people are saying the front end is ugly when they can't even see it !

My parents had a 6.2 diesel in a suburban and it did good for MPG and got a lot of miles out of it but was slow and noisy. Hope they've come a little further in technology but I'm sure they have in 25 years.
