Reason 8 visits to the dealership 5 for backfiring and loss of power. I have owned the truck for 9 months brand new. 2008 2500 Laramie 6.7 LEMON!!!!!

Ummm.. Welcome to DTR!?!

I would try another dealer.. Obviously they haven't figured out a simple problem.

Backfire and loss of power is fuel supply issue.

What have they actioned to correct the indicated problem?

BTW there are no real lemon vehicles just lemon dealers.

I've driven countless diesels and never had one backfire. Loss of power is usually lack of fuel or air.

Do you want some help or just bash your truck?

I work in a shop that services New Holland Tractors. They use a bunch of different diesels including common rail Cummins. I heard a Ford diesel (Perkins) backfire the other day after the mechanic missed the timing mark on a IP replacement. Scared the you know what out of me. Very rare, but it can happen.

seen may 6.7's and 5.9's, never heard one backfire! possible if waaay out of time, but a new truck, never.any faults? what was the tech's repairs? must be something written on your copy of the work orders.

Well, if he/she owns an '08 CTD that backfires, he/she ain't no troll. Some folks don't monitor DTR like some of us do, so give 'em a day or 2 before you go nuclear on 'em. Heck, sometimes I go a whole hour without checking DTR.
