2008 (3500) 6.7 CAI. trouble

2008 (3500) 6.7 CAI. trouble

Hello this is my first posting. I just installed a K&N cai . The engine light came on after about 4 miles. I took it to the dealer.They said run it a day or to. Still had a light , I took it off sent it back. Any one have any info. Thank you.

I would like to see what the DTC codes were. Might make the case for the CAI to be or not to be at fault.

I didn't here a code #. The mechanic said it was the mass air flow senser.said it was reading more air flow and it was working properly.

An oiled air filter will damage the mass air flow sensor (at least on my VW TDI). Cummins probably the same...

i think that should read an OVER oiled air filter will cause trouble with the sensor. there are a whole bunch of us with oiled filters that have had no issues at all. i will say that K&N doesn't get very good reviews on any of the diesel forums.

Thanks for all the replies. I pull a 25 foot tandam dual trailer,i see some heavy loads . What would be a good CAI for my 6.7

AFE or the S&B. I love my S&B, and have had no issues at all with it. Hard to beat it dollar for dollar too.

I love the hell out of my AFE stage 2 intake. That is a good CAI to get I think.
