2007 Ram 2500 6.7L
I have a very good RVing friend that is dying for a Ram diesel. He's found a 2007 2500 Quad Cab with only 19k miles on it and 2 owners. CarFax report is clean. He has thought all along he'd try to stick with the 5.9 engines only. But since this truck is so perfectly clean, has very low mileage, is very near his home, and is a price he can afford, he is leaning toward this model but seconds guess the first year 6.7.
Anyone have any suggestions? Should he avoid a first year 6.7. What would you pay? It is a 2007, auto, SLT with tow mirrros, fog lamps, and bed liner. Color is bright blue. Thanks guys. PCM

The 07 6.7 had its share of issues but all can be overcome real quick. I think the advantage to a buyer is he/she should be able to buy a low miles unit for a very good price. Altering a few of the parameters can net you an excellent truck.
Just over 142K miles on mine and runs awesome. First 10-15K miles were terrible and netted me the worst mpg of any diesel I owned.
Take the lemon and make yourself some lemonade.

An 07.5 6.7 is the same as a 08 and an 09. The only differences are versions of software in the computer. You can get the latest flashes (for free from the dodge dealer) and it will make the truck much better if you want to stay stock (mine, stock was pretty good). Or you can do the deletes and the truck will be that much better.
I have an 07.5 and absolutely LOVE IT!!! Its a towing monster.

Well, I am the "good RVing friend" and I am glad to tell you as my first post on this forum, that I bought a "cherry" 2006 RAM diesel with a 5.9L! I stopped out of the blue about 3 weeks ago and asked this guy if ever thought about selling his truck. He kind of laughed and said "No". So he calls me last week and asked me if I was still interested in buying his truck. Of course I'm still interested! Completed the deal yesterday (my birthday!) and now I am the proud new owner of that 2006 Dodge RAM 2500! Hoping to learn all kinds of new things on this forum!
