Okay Guys, I'm driving along the interstate and I have my cruise control set at about 68mph and all of a sudden the truck felt like the cruise control shut off by itself and I was losing power. I continued on until the very next exit where I came to a stop at the exit ramp. I gave it gas (diesel this instance) and as I look out my side view mirror, I noticed a lot of black smoke as I accelerated. The rest of the day she ran fine. Mind you my truck is totally stock. Has about 12k miles on it and I do use additive in the tank. Usually 16oz of Power Service and 8oz of Marvel Mystery Oil. I'm just wondering if this is a sign of something I should be concerned about??? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance for your replies.

I can't say that I've ever had this happen, I run the same additive mixture as you, so I don't believe there is a problem with that. No other symptoms?? Has it done it again?? Maybe someone else has an idea. Good luck, and keep us updated!!

It has never done this before and the truck has been great. I was just concerned because I when I accelerated I wasn't pushing it that hard and a lot of black smoke came out. Normally I really have to get on it to see a little black smoke from my side view mirror. The only thing I could think of is the fuel filter needs changed and I haven't done that yet. Probably time for me to do that.
