2006 Electrical Problems??

Started acting weird a few days ago after an oil and filter change. I have super fast blinkers now. Pyro gauge and electric windows haven't worked on 3 separate occasions. And when I crank the truck I get two dings and the emergency brake light comes on and stays on. Any ideas?? I checked for codes and none showed up. Disconnected batteries. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, but I feel your pain. Mines been a bit goofy itself these days. Lost power one day to just a crawl. RMP gauge idles at 300, but come alive when giving it juice. Door lock went out. Airbag pump sounds like it's dieing or struggling for power. Must be a short somewhere, but I'm not sure where.

Who did the oil change? If it was the dealer they might have flashed it and screwed it up. Otherwise it's most likely a loose connection. I'd wiggle the connectors around the TIPM.

I did the oil change myself. Battery gauge also reads on the left side of 14 now. Used to always read on the right side. Does that mean there's a short somewhere? I searched TIPM and was frightened by all the problems and cost. I sure hope that's not my problem.

Check fuse 30 31 32 under the hook. Sounds like you got a cremlin. The only thing I can relate to the fuse is the Emergency Brake light. I had the light and it was a fuse when it finally blew. One of those numbers is a blank I think.

Thanks for the responses. I checked those fuses but they were good. I get time off from work starting Wednesday so I can take a closer look at the problem. I'll try disconnecting the batteries for 1-2 hours and checking the connections around the TIPM. Thanks again.

i think your problem is a wire that has the insulation scraped off of it by the a/c compressor. it is in a clamp, look underneath the truck the clamp is on the block tape and use wire loom

Check battery connections, scrape and treat with something to keep corrosion down. Scrape and redo grounds. Load test the batteries to make sure they are both good.

One battery not holding under a load, one battery connection not 100% will induce all these issues and more.

Take the truck and have it checked by a real scanner if you don't have one. There may be codes buried that will not show otherwise.

one of the issues I have had befor is with the tipm, it controls almost everything and is it trips, it can cause some wierd things, they can reset itif it is tripped on some things, it only takes a minute for them to hook up and see if it is the tipm, on my 06 there is no protection between the trailer plug and the tipm, if i get a short in my trailer it will trip it and cause these strange things, mine was left blinker would operate the right blinker and some other things quit working, just an idea good luck

Update: Took it to the dealer. Bad TIPM. Replaced and programmed for $1100. Ouch.
