2006 EGT's while trailer towing and boost fooler.

I have a 2006 2500 quad with auto trans that I plan on pulling a gooseneck with a combined 16-17,000 trailer and load wt. this summer. I have Isspro egt, trans temp and a 40 lb boost gauges on order. After reading a lot of posts about hi egt's on newer trucks with no mods, I am concerned about this. My truck will be stock at least until the warranty is off. Would a boost fooler be a good idea to help lower the egt's? Will it lower the egt's enough to make it worth while? Will I need a boost gauge that reads higher then 40? Will a boost fooler leave a footprint on the computer? Any recommendations on the best boost fooler for the money for a 2006?

Thanks!
Pat

the boost fooler is a good idea. not gonna do damage, espicially on a stock truck. change the boost gauge to a 60lb. my hits 40 now and used to go to 48 w/ the older version of the smarty. quadzilla gets my vote and im sure most of the votes here for the best boost fooler. their customer service is awesome to boot

On my truck stock I could not see more that 1000 degrees post turbo which is about 1200 degrees pre-turbo... That is stock though... My boost would hit 28 and that was it... I got a 60 psi boost guage to put in this weekend to go with the new A5K

80 bucks delivered QBF is well worth the money and will not show up if you remove it before going to the dealer.

Mine hits 1400+ unloaded stock pre-turbo!

I didn't have a guage while towing stock, so I don't know what it would do loaded.

With XZT I gotta watch it close. I've seen it climb to 1550 in the blink of an eye.

I would do the fooler for sure.

It changes the voltage that represents boost pressure, so that the computer thinks boost is at 30psi, when it is actually at 35 or 40, or whatever.

That's the nutshell.
