My 2006 has done fine, have a 12K winch and an aftermarket front winch bumper. I have had no front end problems since I bought the truck new in 2006. The only thing I changed was adding a leveling kit, front shocks, and aftermarket control arms (to center wheels in wheel well).

They won't stand up to a winch pulling on the tow hooks though. I work for a towing company and we're not allowed to hook to the tow hooks because we have broken so many off. Its not just the dodges though Fords and Chevys break off just as easy.

Surprising - Back before I got my winch, sunk the truck and camper axle deep in the mud, and basically plowed furrows all the way out with a triple block system rigged to a 10 k winch - both the tow hooks and their mounting h/w looked pretty beefy when they came off for the winch...
but maybe you were rescuing folks significantly more stuck than I was!
