2004.5 Exhaust murffler install

I'm looking to install a Nelson muffler on my 04.5 Dodge, any comments on ease of installation would be appreciated. My concern is the new muffler is straight through, unlike the stock muffler that has an off-set. Any comments in reference to noise would be appreciated also.

I put a Nelson on my 04.5 in Aug. The noise is not that much louder except under full acceleration then it is a little louder. I found a muffler shop that cut the old muffler off and welded the Nelson in with out any trouble. It does hang down some in the front so I got some high temp. black paint and now it is not very noticeable. I am hoping it will help with the EGT's when I tow my 10,000 lb. travel trailer. I have seen about 50 degrees less EGT with the Nelson and the AFE proguard 7. I am not sure if I gained any power or not. If I did it is not much.

Thanks, did you notice the turbo sounding like it was spinning-up with the new muffler? I to am also towing a 30 ft. 5th wheel, therefore I'm now questioning the need to install the muffler.

Yes the turbo does spin up a little quicker. I did not hear the turbo much until I installed the AFE torque tube. Now you can hear it whine.

The AFE Torque tube replaces the tube that goes from the air cleaner to the turbo. The stock tube has sound controll baffles in side. The torque tube is just a straight tube that has no restrictions which is suspose to let more air flow to the turbo.
I am not sure what it does for power or MPG, but my EGT's are about 50 degrees less now. It does let more of the turbo sound out. You can see a picture of it here.
