2003 max modifications?

Greetings all,
As you can see by the sig. line, I do have a couple of mods on the 250 hp SO. I have done a few searches and can't find the definintive answer to my question. What is the maximum amount of horsepower my motor and 5 speed tranny can take? I now pull a 10K toy hauler and am worried about my EGT's. My Diesel Dynamics module only adds about 60 hp. Can I add a Edge Attitude and new turbo to get around 350 hp and still not worry about the 5 speed tranny? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Jon

it comes down to how much money you want to fork out.

I will fork out the money to buy a new turbo. I would like to not worry about the EGT's as much and also be putting out about 325-350 hp. My truck is still my daily driver, so I don't want to lose driveability and reliability.

Thanks

i would say if you by a good clutch you can handle over 500 but not much more threw tranny intill you get a DD clutch. but there is really nobody out there making a 600 hp clutch.

Southbend makes an applicable clutch that will suit your needs, and compared to others are pretty reasonable.

If all you want is 325-350 hp then......

You dont need a turbo

You dont need a DD clutch or even a replacement if your curret will hold.

Honestly 325hp super easy and easily obtaiable. Most people here have that with your same mods with the exception of better electronics.

I say sell that DD box and get a Smarty or similar electronic and a intake and be done with it.

If your clutch starts to slip then look for a replacement.

I as well as others have 350+hp on stock clutch.

As others said its all about $$$$$ If you got lots of $$$ then yeah get a turbo, clutch, fuel system, etc......but if you want to keep it affordable then try the Smarty and see how you like then new found power.
