2003 Low Power
Needin Help Fellas,
I am sorry to say that I have not been on the 3rd gen forums before, but my dad has a new (to him) truck, and I was wondering about some things.
The truck specs are in my sig.
it feels really low on power, say after you kinda get started. Like it easing the fuel to it. My truck is the 01 in my sig, and it feels great as far as accelration, but this thing feels so sluggish. I was wondering if anyone has had this kind of experience, or is it just the difference between 2nd gen and 3rd gen. I might end up with this truck, cause dad likes the way mine feels better, and this one is just more eye appealing, but if it will not get up and go then I don't care to have it.
To be a little more specific, when my truck was stock, you could actually feel the torque thrust you when you put the go pedal down, this truck just eases ahead like a grandpa in no hurry.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Also I have used the search button, and really found nothing for it, and I looked a little deep in the archives.
Just trying to get some ideas, and options that I can do to get it to feel more like a truck, and not a golf cart.

Is your Dads truck an HO or an SO? That will make a difference. When you punch it you should still feel the power once the turbo spools up regardless of which one it is. Your turbo may be shot or maybe the intercooler is leaking...

crazy question, but I don't know the answer so I will ask.
Can you check for boost leaks without a boost gauge? Maybe a way to pressurize the system, like a cooling system check?

Before I modified my 03 SO, it was pretty sluggish, first time I dyno'd I had 168 ponies to the rear wheels. It would move well, especailly for a big truck, but I wanted more, especailly after ridding with the John_P and Banshee in their rockets.
