Hi Everyone,

I have had my 2002 3500 dually since new and am still using the origional tires (42,000 miles/70,000kms). What is the expected mileage from the original Micheline tires (LT235/8516E) one could expect.

I live in the middle of BC and usually use my old 86F250 4x4 during the winter, but it is starting to signs of age so I am considering getting spare rims for the Dodge dually. The rim size is 16 x 6.0, 8 bolt hole - don't know PCD or hole dia - anyone know what they should be?

Any recommendations for winter rims ? Any recommendations for winter tires for heavy snowfall area and dually (rearwheels rubbing ???).

Any suggestions would be apppreciated. I am retired so I have to to be concerned with the $$$. Not looking for anything other than good winter performance and value. Any ideas of cost of steel rims and tires.

i got 80,000 miles out of my original tires, but i rotated them regular and adjusted air pressure according to load......

Your tires are probably not going to do too well in the winter due to the mileage. My Michelins lasted well over 80k but were a real handfull in the wet or snow in their last years. I finally got chains which solved the snow problem.

I had a set of Tires Plus Douglas that worked pretty well the first 40k but they got slippery in the winter as they wore down.

If you are going to get rims I'd get some real 'snow tires' for the winter. I don't think you have to spend excessively for thse dedicated tires. Get something with lots of sipes (fine cuts) or that are recommended for winter driving.
