2001 trans problem
I'm having a problem with my 01 tranny going in and out of lockup when driving between 45 and 50 mph. The trans has been completely rebuilt with a billet torque converter, the throttle positioning sensor and throttle cable have been replaced. My trans guy says it's a problem within the truck itself and that there are 26 different things it could be. I've spent $4,000 on all the work done so far and can't afford to spend much more on it. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated !!

Try doing this....

I have tried everything, and this is the only thing that has worked. I tried ferrite chokes, running ground wires, cleaning battery posts, cleaning grounds, etc.
This truly works!

Funny thing is, low fluid will cause your tranny to act up. Make sure you check it correctly in neutral while idling after shifting into D and R several times....

Got on here tonight for the first time in a couple of years because my truck is doing exactly what the OP describes. Tranny was rebuilt at 105,000 and was serviced and had a shift kit installed at 236,000. I am now at 256,000 and the truck is basically bone stock with no issues until now. Can't complain really.
I had my tranny guy do a service last week...fluid, filter, pan gasket and replaced some sort of sensor. Tranny still acting up & still have a leak so it needs to go back to him anyway. I'll check out this procedure...thanks for the help.
Is there anything else that needs to be done because the batteries were disconnected?

Just make sure that if you do this follow this procedure: Hook the batteries back up. After all is hooked up, turn key to on position. Slowly depress accel pedal to floor and then lift back up slowly to resting position. Turn key to off position. Wait 10-15 seconds. You may then start the truck and have fun. This procedure recalibrates the APPS after the fix.
