2001 Problems!

My brother has a 2001 and today it started throwing a few codes! P1693 p0254 and p0253 I know 0254 and 0253 anr injcetion pump but the truck runs like a raped ape until 3600-3800 rpms and then it just losses everything, starts spittin and sputering, but it only does this on occasion, not everytime! I dont know if the injetion pump is going out slowly or if its a problem with the tst! Also it was just all rebuilt! The truck has a brand new lighting vp44, new injector lines and tubes, new silver bullet, ddp competition series injectors valve springs, pretty hot cam, power puck and competition tst! And i cant think of everything else right now! But the tst and power puck are 2years old and havent been on the truck in awhile! They have been colleting dust on a shelf!

Also when we first hooked the tst up we hooked it up wrong and it had a constant ground to the injection pump, could that of caused a problem?

Could be wrong, but it kind of sounds like you are running the pump dry. It is always possible that hooking up the TST up, you damaged the electronics on the VP44, but that's impossible to know for sure at this point.

Yeah i was kinda thinking that to! Just because it doesnt feel slugish at all, and it doesnt do it all the time so it might be runnin the pump dry, but i dont know why it would throw p0253 and p0254!

P0253 Fuel Injection Pump Fuel Valve Open Circuit.
Problem sensed with fuel circuit internal to fuel injection pump.

P0254 Fuel Injection Pump Fuel Valve Current Too High.
Problem caused by internal fuel injection pump failure.

Do you think the ECM senses too much signal from the modules?
You might turn one off, reset the codes and see if they come back.
