2001 HO Injectors

I'm doing a SVo conversion on a 2001 HO. I have a guy in Colorado that has agreed to modify the injectors specifically for veg but need a set of injector cores to send to him. Does anyone have a set I can buy?

INjectors should NOT need to be modded to run SVO.

What exactly will he be doing to the injectors? You need to know that before you send him anything....

As for stock sticks, most guys who upgrade turn them in for core charge, so they aren't as plentiful as you may think. Still, you should find some pretty easily.. You've checked the classifieds, I assume?

This a link to the guy:
http://www.coloradobiodiesel.com/

He modifies them for more flow, a more directed flow, a slightly higher pop-off pressure, and finally precisely balances the pressure between injectors to insure they are all the same. He is an extremely competent diesel mechanic.

According to his website, they ONLY do Cummins injectors for 1989-1993 model engines. Either their site is old or....

Have you thought about the effect of higher popoff pressures on the injection pump.

I hope you have good luck with this, but I will tell you that a proper SVO or WVO conversion does NOT need modified injectors, from what I've seen. Granted I haven't read up much on it.

Still double and triple check to make sure that this is all you've been led to believe.....

For what its worth, greasel specifically recommends not running SVO on 24v VP44 trucks.

I ran svo in my 01 for about 10,000 miles, all you need is a grease car type set up that pre heats the oil. You start on diesel and end on diesel, use the coolant to heat the svo. I never changed any thing else and it ran great. I made my own heater/filter set up.

Be aware, it is almost impossible to keep fuel pressure on the vp when running svo, it is just too thick, and nothing will pump it well. It will ad a whole new dimension to your lift pump issues!

If I was going to do it again, I would go the bio diesel route, also look into a svo/diesel mix! also a great alternative, as long as it doesn't get too cold out.
