2 turbos??? what's involved?

ive been hearing about this idea of having two turbos..one bigger than the other...can i just go to a scrap yard and take a turbo off a school bus or whatever and then do that??? or does it have to be a specific turbo??....whats involved?

Loads of development and tuning work is required to make a twin set work. The plumbing isn't trivial, and the matching of the both turbos isn't that easy.
There are some members on this board that do have lots of experience. IMHO getting the plumbing and the correct specs from a renowned supplier will leave you much less frustrated than just going to the scrapyard and ripping something out of a schoolbus or semi.

Just my 2c

Welcome to the website!

"AlpineRAM" is giving you some good advice on twin
turbo systems for our trucks! There is more to it than
you think. I definitely wouldn't just go to a scrap yard
and remove some turbos and then attach them to your
truck.

To give you an idea of what they look like I have attached
links to two (2) diesel performance companies that build
and market these systems.

Wow Scheids' kit is shure pretty.

I remember seeing that monster sitting around at the last Extravaganza, I think I stared at it for a least a couple hours. Even had a little puddle of drool on the floor when I left.

Yeah, I definitely know what you mean!! I love the part
of your post that says; "even had a little puddle of drool
on the floor when I left!"

That system is close to what will be on my old 96' here
shortly!!

Yeah, unfortunately it's kinds like the food pictures on the menu, for display only. It may not be that pretty in real life. Not that you couldn't clean it up if you wanted to.

It actually is that pretty in a truck. I've seen one installed and it looks super sexy in the engine compartment. Lots of $$$$$$ though, but nice none the less.
