Cool 2 questions for y'all

so me and another kid have an unspoken competition goin in town. he's got a 94 12v ctd that looks like mine. drives me nuts. weve got the loud thing goin, and with the addition of a 4" to 6" by 18" chrome tip ill be doin good there. but id like an inexpensive way to push some serious smoke out of my 24v. id like it to be reversible so i can still get good fuel econ on the highway.

2nd question: ive read about removing the turbo silencer and looked at doing it. how did you guys get it out? i tried a little but couldnt get it out.

Thanks everyone

cant help on the 24v smoke, but if you want loud go with straight pipe and a stack. the silencer in the turbo inlet is held in by a big snap ring.

You need some fuel to get the smoke. Injectors, box, tuner, anything really. You could plug up your intake or remove a boot from your turbo, but that will make you slower. No one wants a slow smokey truck. My two cents, skip the AFE and get some fuel upgrade off the get go. Comp boxes are cheap now, EZ's are even cheaper. That will hold you over until you get enough coin for an Adrenaline.

yeah i love the exhaust i have now. after posting this thread i got the bright idea to install a smoke switch on stock truck. now ive got a slow truck that wont smoke either (see that thread in emergencies). good thing i work at a dodge dealer. after that incident i started lookin more and found the cheap prices on comps and EZ's. my dad had a comp in his 99. i had my heart set on either juice w/attitude or addreniline but the comp and some autometer gauges will do until i get rich and famous and can afford all this.

by the time you buy a full set of gauges and even a cheap used comp, you've spent almost as much $ as the adrenaline.

That was what I found. I don't have the Adrenaline w/Pulse installed yet but it's waiting for me when I get back home.

When I was shopping around, that combo went for the same or less than a comparable tuner/gauge package.
