2 Micron Fuel System

Hey guys Im getting ready to install this system from GDP....

http://www.glacierdieselpower.com/pr..._id=FW1220-TFK

So do you guys run this system and keep the stock canister? Will it work out ok? Should I switch the filters for CAT's?

If you have already purchased it, Id just run the filters that come with it and change over to CAT 2 mic when its time to change the filter. I wouldnt bother change the water sep, the Fleetguard is fine.

I would keep the stock fuel filter housing for heating purposes...wouldnt bother run a filter in it.

I kept the stock canister filter then run the GDP 2 micron set up. System works great, but I probably will be moving the mounting under the truck because I am really wanting to get twin pumps on this thing!

Also you can see that I tapped the filter housing to install my fuel pressure sensor, then I know exactly what is going to the pump.

This is your most cost effective option. I say run the FG for now and then maybe switch to a 1R0750 filter. If you do go with your original idea then I would keep the FG W/S since they are a bit better than the Cats. I am running a homemade setup which is pretty much the same as the GDP set up you posted.

Sorry my camera skills are not the best.

Parts List:

2 x Baldwin BF1311 filter heads
2 x -10 O-ring ti -6 JIC
2 x JIC to barbed fittings -6
1 x -10 O-Ring union
1R750 2 micron filter
175-2949 Cat W/S, not the best W/S but I have a baldwin PF7977 in the canister to help with that.

Sure it is not a true two micron, it is really a 5 micron filter absolute but still pretty good.

To the best of knowledge no...

http://www.fassride.com/filter-cross-references.html

The real thing I would be concerned with on the Fass is not the Fuel filter but the water seperator...its numbers are less than stellar.

It is a 1-14 filter so it will fit but I was told fass does not what anything tighter than a 100 micron filter on the suction side of the pump.
