Been shopping around and looking at 2" leveling kits. There's several different ones, not sure which one to go with. Are the ones on EBay that are selling for around $80-$90 quality stuff? I called a couple of the local 4x4 shops here and they want anywhere from $125-$225 for the leveling kits, plus $250 to have it installed

Which ones have you guys used and recommend?

Also, the 4x4 shops recommend that I buy new front shocks too with this leveling kit...is this really needed? What have you guys done? Still running factory?

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

After what I went through to install the leveling kit on my truck $250 seems like a steal! As for the kit, itself, go with Hellbent Steel. Very high quality and less money than what you quoted above.

I've heard conflicting reports about needing to get new shocks. I, personally, did kept the stock shocks on my truck and it seemed to do fine.

What about alignment too? Pretty much required after installing the leveling kit?

Bought my spacers off ebay. Had them installed at a local shop for $75. No alignment, still have factory shocks. No problems so far.

That thread was very helpful but also worries me....it seems to be about 50/50 on those who've installed just spacers and had no issues....and those who've installed spacers but went ahead and bought shocks, sway bar parts, etc...

I think a set of Bilstein shocks are in the works though for sure....I hear nothing but good things!

I bought the TopGunz spacers off E-bay for like $80. Put 'em in myself in a couple hours. Simple to do if you have a couple floorjacks and a set of stands. I ran the stock shocks as well for a couple weeks until my Bilstiens came in. They worked fine. I travel lots of dirt and gravel roads w/ no problems. You will need an allignment, as the toe will be slightly off. Best cheap mod I've done.

That because with a level kit you're on the verge of needing those other parts. Due to building tolerances, some trucks get by without, others start bending links and blowing shocks.

i have the revteck spacers on my truck i installed them myself in about 40 min. i did not align the truck and it still has the stock shocks drives straight and smooth.

i am running the Top Gun Customz 2" leveling kit and stock shocks, no troubles so far, although truck did require an alignment afterwards. Eventually, like others here have said previously, i'll end up replacing the front shocks with higher quality ones that are 2" taller.

Ditto for me on what Desert Dually has. Although I added sway bar spacer blocks from Lorenz. Did add air bags on the back.

I ran Daystars kit for over 100 thousand miles with no problems. No re-alignment. I did go with a 2 inch longer shock. but you can run stock.

I had Daystar 2" spacers and 315s for 55,000 miles. I did the full alignment and new longer shocks when installed. You can run the stock shocks without a problem as long as you don't get into situation with very large bumps/holes or full articulation off road. I do recommend the alignment and sway bar drop blocks.

I ran the stock shocks with my 2" spacers. No problems here.
