This forum is awesome. The stickies are informative, and the members are the real deal, customizing and driving these old trucks.
This isn't my first Cummins diesel. I had a 2000 2500 4x4, I put 50k miles on it, and just sold it in April. It was a nice truck, but I had to do a lot to it in the time I had it. When I sold it, I started keeping my eyes open for a 12 valve to put in my '64 Chevy Carryall (Suburban)
I'm really into vintage american cars. I own an unrestored '58 Caddy, a '66 c-10 402ci/700r4, that carryall, a '59 Chevy Bicayne project, plus a harley shovelhead chopper.
The people in this forum obviously work on their trucks and take pride in keeping them on the road. I like that. It reminds me of hotrodding, but with trucks that weren't really designed for it, which is real cool.
The '89 I found a few weeks back has needed some work, but so far its normal wear and tear. It only has 132,000k miles on it, and while it kind of beat up, I really love it already. I'm in no hurry to put that carryall back together now. Plus I didn't pay a lot of money for it, which was nice. I'm stoked to get 18mpg with it, after I get the brakes sorted plan on doing some of the fuel delivery modifications you guys are doing, but for right now am super happy just to be driving my truck.

Right on and welcome to the DTR!!
When the time comes for the drivetrain to make it over to the carryall...start a thread over in the "Cummins Conversion" section so we can follow along, and offer advice as needed.
Great group here on the DTR...I've gone from no knowledge...to being able to help others in just a few months, thanks to the great information, and help and advice of the collective DTR members!!
