1st gear slipping...somtimes
I've recently had a problem with my tranny slipping upon take off. The first time it happened everything had been working fine, I parked the truck, came back 20 mins later, started up and backed out of the driveway, put it in drive and it slipped really bad in 1st gear, all other shifts were ok. It did this for a few stops, I parked it and 30 mins later fired it up and I was back to normal. Its been 3 weeks or so with no problems then it happened again this morning on my way to work. Any ideas?? Im mechanically inclined but transmissions are somewhat foreign to me...

Yep bring it to dealer or tranny shop. Common problem. Its a band adjustment. I had the issue at 60k. More than likely they will try to sell you a new tranny. But its a band adjustment

**update** I warmed my truck up after work and let it idle in neutral for about 5 mins, put it in drive and everything is working fine again.
Sure didn't seen like it was starting in 2nd, my rpms rise quite a bit compared to how much I'm actually moving. If I was somehow starting in 2nd wouldn't I notice more of a load on the engine? The rest of the shifts seem fine, as soon as I get moving fast enough and not slipping as much and it seems to grab 2nd and be just fine from there.
I also have experienced the shuttle shift between 1st and 2nd as well as the "neutral feeling" right after I stomp on the accelerator. I've planned on ordering the Borg Warner Governor pressure sensor/solonoid to fix the shuttle shift....any chance that may be whats causing my slipping issue too?
Right now I think I've got it narrowed down to either the governor pressure solonoid/sensor and a band adjustment, or both.
I plan on ordering the solonoid and sensor tomorrow so once I get them i will install and do the band adjustment and post my findings!
PLEASE SHARE ANY OTHER THOUGHTS!!!
THANKS!!

This happened to me again so I paid a little close attention and...IT IS starting in 2nd gear! When this first happend I was really light on the throttle, kinda feathering it to get up to speed, afraid to get in to it and really hurt something. I guess while I was being light on the throttle my figured that it just slipped into second. Yesterday, when it happened again I remained steady on the throttle (not hard) and it was easy to notice that I was starting in 2nd....NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS!! ANY HELP?
Still waiting on the sensor/solenoid as well.

The solenoid is not setting correctly or the sensor is reading incorrect values is the usual problem. Replace the sensor and solenoid before worrying too much about other things.
