1st Dyno run done

Okay guys I did my first dyno run with the truck:

1st pull: 286 HP - 522 trq

According to dynojet
Temp: 95*
Hum: 49%

Due these #'s sound right with what I have listed in my sig??

BTW,I listed this under "1st dyno run help" also,so if you think you saw this before you did... I just figured I get more feed back with a new thred..

Looks right to me. Your air intake allowed the truck to make about 10hp over stock.

YOU NEED SOME FUEL!!!

Okay, but I'm not really stock..
AFE trq tube,CAI kit and catback ehxt.

So, should I have not posted at least 5-10 more horse than stock #'s????

and if not than what are the stock #'s, I mean stright stock right off the lot??

Gen rule of thumb is you lose 15-20% going back to the rear wheels.(gassers anyway)still learnin about Diesels.....

Or are the tranny's on these eatin it more than that???

Expecting rwhp increase with just air intake and a different exhaust pipe/muffler is not realistic. Those two mods should improve turbo spool a little and lower EGTs a little maybe, but add hp no. At least not enough to measure.

Those are good stock level numbers.

I agree with all above. I dynoed 287/556 with just an Afe Stage 2 Pro dry intake.

If this were true, then I only have a 12% drivetrain loss of horsepower?

287/325= 0.88

I was told to expect between 15-20% loss.

I understand your questioning based on stock numbers. I dynod 282rwhp when mine was completely stock except for BFG 315s.

I have seen stock trucks dyno(Dynojet) anything from 265-290. Too many variables to say this is the exact drive train loss on a Dynojet run. I still don't think an air intake and cat back exhaust system is going to improve rwhp enough to really tell on a dyno. As I stated it should improve performance a little, especially on low end.

*******' whats up! I just popped in on this thread earlier and said to the wife "hey honey I am going to go run the trucks okay?" She wasn't listening of course, but I'm gonna do it anyway

So I have something for you to try my friend........I picked up a smarty a few weeks ago and I'm lovin' it! We'll have to hook up some time so you can see what it does. Maybe throw it on level 5 and play a little bit?

Anyway my point was maybe with the smarty I can get a dyno # that I won't be ashamed of! It's very simple unload it from mine load it on yours and when Source Automotive opens up for there next business day you will be in there buying one! You will also most likely be talking to Rip about a built trans, studs, sticks, turbo upgrade, lift pump and a higher flowing cp3! You gotta try this smarty
P.S. DO NOT LET THE WIFE READ THIS! Unless you already have the money part worked out with her (right)

Glocklove what are you doing to the truck next? And what HP level are you shooting for? I am just curious cause when I first started modding I thought of 500 as the absolute upper limit! I figured even 450 would be enough, but after reading on here......you just start to thinking and then well, you KNOW

And the screen name, whats your model of choice?

Ya, sounds right... the mods you have now are the first of the supporting mods you need to make power...

It all depends on what you want. Get something small, like the smarty jr, or a edge if you just want a little kick, or get the smarty sr...

I'd make sure I had some $$ set aside for guages and an aftermarket fuel pump... Sorry, not trying to spend your money...

I have a .40 model 23... love it...

Already got the Jr, (P/UP right after gettin off the dyno) thats why I wanted the base #'s on the dyno, hopefullllly. I can get back to the dyno in a couple months and see what the Jr does on the truck.. I have to due some gauges first..AD 100 may take a couple three moths. And a safe place to do it so the wife does not see it....She'll lose it if she sees me drop the tank..Thanks guys.
