1996 12 valve white smoke when you rev PLEASE HELP
I am looking at a 1996 12valve 172000miles, pump has been messed with runs fine idles no smoke. When you rev the truck at about 1800-2000 it smokes white when your not under load(when it not making boost). When you drive it its ok. IS this fuel related the guy says one of the injectors is messed up. It has also had a head gasket and newer head, is it a cracked block im new to the 12 valve game please help.
I dont know much bout the truck the guy im buying it from says it reliable, hes been upfront about its past the previous owner before him when he bout it it had a fire ringed head but a un discovered blown head gasket that someone covered up with head gasket sealer, he said they fixed it right new radiator new head and gasket. and flushed it like a 25 times to get that stuff out. Is this a money pit jus tell me straight up. Could the block be cracked or somthin Please help

White smoke when free revving with a good bit of throttle is normal, at least in my trucks. Too much fuel for the air thats there will white smoke and cause some popping. Boost is a wonderful thing, clears that right up.

thanks thats what i was hoping, im gonna go ahead and bite the bullet and buy it. the whole block sealer runing through it scared me but they flushed it and have replaced everything, it doesnt get hot, and runs good, im gonna throw a new set of injectors in it increase the timing a little and we will se what happens,
if anyone else has feedback or suggestions let me know

Mine did that and found out the OFV was bad. Also found out the fuel cutoff solenoid was bad also. I would do a fuel pressure check first before plopping down any cash. Now she dose not smoke...
