180* or ? Thermostat
Looking at flushing the cooling system, replacing hoses, and the thermostat. Geno's sells a Gates 180* thermostat. I think Cummins thermostats are 190* or 195* (?). Not sure what the Dodge ones are...
I'm guessing that going with the Cummins one is probably the way to go, but was looking for some input / opinions from you guys. Any ideas?
Also - does anyone know the part number for the Cummins thermostat?
ON EDIT - I just talked to one of the Cummins parts guys - my engine serial number says it should have a 190* thermostat, and the Cummins part# is 3954830.

I have a 180 Cummins T-Stat. They discontinued that item a few years back. I have to tell you, that thing will keep your truck way too cool in the wintertime and it will never warm up. It does work great in the hot summer months though.....

Yeah - that's why I'm going to go with the Cummins 190* one... I don't load my truck enough for a 180* tstat - I need to invent ways to get it running warm as it is...

Cummin Part # is 3967195.
Works great for anyone with added fueling and not living too far north.
Whichever Temp you go with....go with a Cummins T-stat!!
