16" or 17" Wheel for Daily Driver

I'm needing new tires come next spring and I figure it's time for new wheels as well. I'm currently running the stock 16" wheel with 285/75 Toyo Open Country A/T's. Very happy with the tires they will have 40-45,000 on them when replaced with about 50% gravel driving, longest i've ever gotten a tire to last. My question is what will give me better driveability 16" or 17" or is it just a matter of preference of looks. I'm looking to stick with the 285/75's if I go with 16" wheels or a 285/70 if I go with 17" wheel. Thanks for any input.

Go with the 17's if you are buying wheels anyway. Then you'll be set to run 3rd gen brakes in the future.

Obviously, this is not a mandatory thing. But if I were buying new wheels, I would look real hard at 17". Since there are so many more options in that size now. And the side benefit of bigger brakes later is just good planning.

If you are sticking with 16" wheels, don't sweat it and buy rubber that fits what you have got.

I didn't realize how many options there are for 17" wheels until I really started looking hard and the brake upgrade hadn't crossed my mind either, but it seems like a sensible thing to do since the stock brakes on these trucks aren't very good. So I guess i'm really starting to lean towards the 17" wheels. Anybody got some pics of that size?
