12v 24 v???
What year did the Dodge change from 12v to a 24 v engine? Would the 24v be considered a 3rd gen or second gen?

24 valve came out in '98.5 and is considered 2nd gen.
3rd gen starts with the common rail engine in 2003.

I see, thanks for clearing that up. I like the second gen I have, not sure if it is the best one or not but she sure works good.

Fill out your signature so that we know what you have. By reading between the lines I'm guessing you have a 12 valve, so you already have the best, IMO.

I'm shocked, lol. Go look at your truck, and look at what it says in red writing on the door under "Ram 2500" and report back.

Yes, it's 24 valve.

That would be under 6 in of snow and ice right about now! I got it yesterday.
