1225* E.G.T. and stock

pullin on my daily drive of 125 miles and 6500 lbs my Egts reached their highest ever going up a 7% grade, should I sweat it? my truck has the stock fuel plate. what can I expect to get if I put in the 10 plate I've been holding on to? my truck has 4" exhaust otherwise stock

I wouldn't sweat it. Both my trucks would stay below 1300 when stock no matter how steep the hill or heavy the load. Dodge limited the HP so they didn't have to install a pyro or beef up the drivetrain and still make it though warranty.

If you install the #10 you will either have to go with a bigger turbo or back off the throttle more often than with the stock plate to keep your egts down. It's a slippery slope that you start, one modification leads to another.

so is 1300 the number to stay below? and how long is it safe to run in the 1200's? how much of a drop will I see with a different turbo?

Cummins says these engines (with stock timing) will run 1250* all day long.

If you change just the housing to a 14cm (you have a 12 now) you will be close to where you were before with egts and the stock plate. Talk to the great folks at High Tech Turbo, they'll steer you in the right direction (801) 304-0700

Might want to consider changing to one of many freer flowing air filters availible also.

Sorry can't help you there. Too many different turbos for me to keep track of.
I'm sure the guys at High Tech can though.

Advancing the timing will cool it down a bit. I wouldn't go past 15.5 degrees. The timing gear is on a tapered shaft and they tend to slip. Your fuel milage will go up with it advanced too.
