12 valve hazing under load
My truck mods are in my signature. My truck seems to like to haze a lot at part throttle under load, or any time i try to accelerate much at all. I can drive it with hardly any smoke, but i have to drive it pretty easy in order to do that. My converter is pretty tight, so it lugs some out of the hole, which i am used to. Its also fairly high geared being an auto with 3:55's. It runs great, I just would like to be able to drive it a little easier without hazing all the time. It was this way with the stock turbo too.
How is everyone else's 12 valves as far as hazing under load?
I have played with the AFC, but never really cut it back as much as i could on the bottom end. I like some smoke when i want it, but id also like to be able to drive it without the smoke and be able to accelerate decent in traffic without smoking so much.
I may back out the pre boost screw some more and see how it drives like that. Im just afraid its only going to spool slower and everything else will be the same I may try it out though.
My HX40 will make 10psi by 1200rpm, so it seems like it shouldnt be too hard for it to not haze. I dont have any boost leaks. I have checked it.
So, am i the only one with this problem? Im not too busy tomorrow, so i may see what i can do with it.

outside of a less aggressive fuel plate i think yer stuck with it. 0 plate is max fuel outside of no plate at all. I can get mine up to 20psi on a hill and hammer it and still make it smoke pretty good. cleans up around 32 psi and waste gate cuts in at 36

The AFC foot should stop the governor arm before it gets to the plate though. Even with my valet switch on the truck, it still hazes quite a bit.

The tight converter is part of your problem, and I bet if you went with a set of 181's you'd clean it up a bit. You could try tightening your AFC a bit, but if its in light and medium throttle situations, you probably won't see much change.

Yeah, i played with the AFC and couldnt get the haze to clear up under low to half throttle conditions.
I had 181's in here before i swapped in my 191's. Best i can remember the haze was about the same, but maybe i dont remember right?
