07 popping out of 4wd
Ok I put the truck in 4wd at a stop and proceed to move forward all is fine. When I turn the wheel either way past a certain degree the truck slips or pops out of 4wd. This has happened three times now in the dirt and the last time i almost got stuck. Tried it on the street same thing. Seems that everytime it starts to bind or grab for traction it spits it out. I thought I had 100,000 mile warranty on drive train but the ******* said only the engine is covered.

Electronic shift (dash switch) or manual floor mounted stick?
My '08 has the floor stick. Only twice, but it has popped out of 4wd.
Just pulled it back in without further incident but...
I'm going to ask the dealer if the linkage can be adjusted.

Well got under there and it looked like it was all the way back in the adjustment. I held the stick all the way back and my friend tightened it. Its still popping out of 4 hi. It will stay in 4 lo no matter what.

Is the tranfer case end of the linkage moving easily, is it centered when engaged?

I will crawl back under there later today or sometime within the next two days. It seemed to move fairly easy. My buddy shifted all the way through the gears with his hand.

Ok so friend came by this morning. We get to thinking that none of this happened till I installed a vhf radio in the truck. Low and behold we pop the boot off of the stick and there is a screw wedged behind it. Must have fallen in there when i put the console back on. Screw removed works like a charm. Buddy said he is charging me 1300.00 for trouble shooting. As always guess you should always start with the easiest stuff first.
