07 infinity system-add JL cleansweep
So I have been driving the truck more, with the lower fuel prices. I hate my Infiniti system. there is NO separation, and it just sounds muddy and distorted.
Is the clean sweep a good option? I like the steering wheel controls and functions of the stock head unit, just hate the sound.
Im looking to add all new speakers and a rear sub. Should I just replace the headunit and start from scratch, or is the clean sweep a good item?

I got the Laramie like you and I replaced the head unit, all the factory speakers and added a sub, components, and amps. Now it's a little too much---too loud.

What clean sweep were you thinking about? Have you talked to any on the aftermarket installers to see if it would work well with Infinity?
I have been thinking about ditching the infinity as well, but like the basics and steering wheel stuff.

If your going to swap everything else out, go with a fresh head unit too. Aftermarket radios have so many more features over the stockers, not to mention better sound processing etc...

I used the cleansweep to interface with the the OEM head unit. I'm running separate amps, infinity perfect component speakers, JL 12W6 sub, etc. Sounds pretty good...

IMO the best option for tuning a radio would be either a good screen, or an equalizer. All the screens I've had were really nice with the tuning features.

Be thankful you have a double-din and can get some new options. i didnt have the Ifinity in this truck when I got it, but IMHO the Infinity system is barely adequate also.
If you want a little upgrade that sounds good
Get a new headunit.
5-channel amp to run all new door speakers and wiring and small sub. That should sound really good and not wreck the bank. That way all the factory stuff is left in the truck should you return to stock all the aftermarket stuff can be pulled out and just hook the stock stuff back up.
