06 ticking noise

My 06 has been making a ticking noise that I can not locate. It sounds like it is coming from the drivers side windshield post/dash. The noise is throttle related. When I am at a constant throtle in all gears you can hear it, let up and the tick is gone. And it does not do it at idle. 9000 miles on truck with a triple dog. Does it with or without box. Any ideas?

Only if it starts idling rough or gets hard to start.

mine was doing the same thing just a litlle ticking noise. Didn't think to much about it now I am sitting here with a blown motor becasue the injector hung open and melted the piston. I do not like these injectors in these trucks. My new engine is getting don m flux 2 injectors.

Just document every time you take it to the dealer. And be sure you ask the injectors be checked that it is noted on the service write up. Keep a copy.
That way if it does develop into a major problem you will have proof you did everything you could to keep it from happening.
It seems like lots of dealers are claiming "fuel problems or fuel contamination" on problems brought to them.
There isn't much you can do with a crappy dealer except keep records.

Have you dumped in some injector cleaner? Or dumped in something for lubricity? Stuck injectors DO sound a little like a timing tick, may be you have too much timing to your programming. Some have used the aftermarket injector programming to solve the timing tick.

Make sure you take a fuel sample from the filter housing before you take the truck in to the dealer, or take the sample right under their nose to send in. Get a test kit from Genos, I always carry one in the tool box. If the dealer tells you it's bad fuel, you will have a certified test, if the fuel test is OK you will then have something credible to argue against their 'bad fuel' standard claim. Then they have to dig deeper and take responsibility instead of using the fuel stuff to make YOU pay to fix your truck.

The ticking noise is coming from the #1 injector fuel pulse, that is intensified from the #1 injector line not having a retainer to stabilize/hold it in place. I've noticed running 2-stroke seems to pretty much eliminate the tick.
