06 Lift pump Location
Hey guys, was looking for the lift pump on the fuel filter canister and didn't see it. had dodge pull the warranty info and it had been replaced about 20k ago. around 9 months. would they have installed an intank lift pump. also the injectors were changed out twice within 12k miles. had a new set installed right before i bought the truck. what would cause them to fail that quick. dealer said the previous owner could have ran the truck out of fuel. have put 17k on it since november and haven't had a problem.

06 lift pumps are in the tank, integrated with the level sensor. As for the injectors, I think this was a bad time for this style of injectors in general. Most will say that you must add finer filtration to make them last. So far, I've only had 1 fail (touch wood) (under warranty), and I think it was due to a short in the harness running through the valve cover. I have only the stock filter, running a Fleetgaurd element. I also have the original lift pump. Truck has over 222,000 km and it is an 06. Only mod is the Quadzilla Max Milage Module.

How do you like that Quadzilla? Is it worth the money?
I have been hesitant to purchase the QMMM due to the mixed reviews. With my already "Driving Miss Daisy" tendencies, I am not sure how beneficial it would be.
Blitz, My injectors are still the original stock injectors and no problems...I have less than 40,000 miles though. After a recent oil, fuel, air filter, and coolant change it is running like a top.
Replaced injectors could have been alot of things namely, bad or no fuel and mods.

the turbo is a little golden. at the rate i am going i am putting 50k plus a year. hope the new injectors hold out. going to put one of the cat filter systems on it soon. maybe that will help. i have been getting around 19 mpg and change the stock fuel filter with every oil change. does the lift pump fail like the canister mounted ones or does it last longer?

If your going to replace the LP do your self a favor and buy a Raptor. I have been doing some research and that thing is the way to go! Rated for 16,000 hours.... Thats right 16k!

would i leave the factory one in the tank? just wondering how long the life expectancy is on the factory one. the raptor does seem to be a good one from what i have heard. i have to get a clutch first. mine is slipping from 3rd on. limping it along right now. would rather wait on the fuel pump for awhile.

You would need to drop the tank (or pull the bed) and remove the old one, and replace it with a Liberty canister mod. GDP sells everything you need. The Raptor also allows you to run bigger fuel lines, so if you ever get something like the MK-2 fuel filter kit you will have 1/2 in fuel lines all the way to the CP3. No more worries of not enough or dirty fuel burning your trucks parts up.
