'06 going the dealer for warranty work, am I missing anything else?

OK, so here is my 2006 DRW 4x4 3500 6 speed (purchased 4-06) and it has 4800 miles on it. These problems have exsisted since new, and I finally have the time to take it in this Thursday. The service guy seemed to be in the know except for two things (I will point it out below). Can anyone please let me know if there is anything recommended I should have done at the scheduled time? I have searched and been on another diesel site (which I will duplicate this post to) but everything I have listed is a little vauge on some of the posts.

I am looking here for solid information, actual TECH terms used and TSB #'s So I don't go in there telling them "Hey I saw this on a diesel forum...."

**Requested work:

– Pre Star Scan tool report **

–Interior light timer program. Optional 15s, 45s, 2m, 5m. Request 5 min. enabled.
Currently the interior lights stay on for only 5-7 seconds when you open the door. Same problem for the cargo light.

– Key off power feature. Radio & Electric windows etc. Request enabled.
Currently this feature is not programmed into the truck. Everything shuts off with the key before the door is opened.

– Reverse light feed flickers intermittent then goes out with my trailer attached, a 18' car hauler with low draw 35W trailer lights.
Is it prudent to check on a higher amp relay / and or transmission switch?

– TSB 18-003-06 Long Crank PCM re-flash requested.
When my truck was new, the grid light would hardly ever come on, and have a long crank problem. Now the grid light works like it should (started too with-in the last 1000 miles), and the truck hardly ever has a long crank problem now. What gives here? This did not just fix itself did it? The service writer stated there has been a recent flash as of last week, and is aware of it

– TSB 18-041-05 White smoke PCM re-flash requested. Will improve mileage, cooling fan performance & cold starting performance.
Unknown if I need this. I do not have white smoke, but heard it helps with the additional milage, fan, & starting etc.

– Program fog lamps to be operational with the high beams on.
Service writer stated he was not aware of this, then stated the "State Troopers" don't like it, thats why there not?? I am looking for a Chrysler "program" term to tell them to activate this feature.

– Poor fuel milage when towing light load. Please check if any updated engine performance re-flashes available.
Anything missing here? Looking for TSB # etc.

– Enable requested for high idle program operated by cruise control. Clutch switch package & ECU pin for clutch/PTO pin #22 ECUB connector to use this feature. Aids in cool down, warm up, and winch operation etc. Controlled by the cruise control function exactly like the automaics, but this is for 6 speed manual use.
Service writer did not know about this, but was open minded. Told me to bring in my list when the service is to be done. Anybody please have this part # available and is there any special "lingo" to have them install this under warranty? Or I would rather install the part if they could give it to me.

– Post Star Scan Tool report ** to verify features enabled.

Thanks in advanced . I know some of this is drivetrain, but figured it would make more sense to be in one post

The only item you may not be able to get done is the fog lights with high beam thing. I don't think it's ECM controlled, but actually the way the truck lights are wired. I believe you may have to do that feature yourself with a relay.

Would be nice if it is!

It is ECM controlled. You can activate the fogs with high beam with a bullydog triple dog d/l.

I think you can also get a deal from Geno's garage to allow this feature.

But can the dealer do it?? Or is it stand alone specifically controlled by the Bullydog system?

I think their technology would allow them to do it but their rules may not. I guess you'll have to find out from them.

Here is a list of all the 06 TSBs for Dodge Trucks.

http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2006-index.htm

Some of these will not apply to your truck as they are for Hemi/gasser/durango crowd too.

I to would like to know about the high idle feature for the 6 speeds??
does any body have first hand experience with this on their 6 speed??
can it really be done?

my truck goes in for work on Thursday (for hard start again) and I would like to have the high idle, and window/radio stay on feature enabled.

I will post an update as well/soon as I get this done and let you know what the dealer does/says/does not recommend etc. I will also post any update TSB's that they list too.

I will have my truck in this week. I had the high-idle feature enabled, but I need to ground the pin and do the other steps. I will let you know when I get it done.

It's my understanding the "kit" is unreasonably priced, the ECM pins are like $13.00? Correct me if I'm wrong.

This has been hashed over a few time here, IIRC, member MikeD has a 6 spd. with it enabled (and the needed mods).
Could be wrong on that too, it's just sticking in my head for some reason.

Of course, reading a few pages later someone goes on to say that the ECMs are different in 06
