06 Edge/Attitude

I have an 06 CTD with edge w/attitude, and am wondering what you guys set your alarms at? I currently have the egt at 1300, and it has never gone off (also have MBRP muffler). Not sure what my turbo settings currently are but it goes off occasionally, what do these things achieve stock?? Also what do you guys have your turbo timers set on, i use the turbo temp, not time? Thanks for your input as this is only my second diesel, first one modified. Couldn't keep my first one (ford 6.0) running stock, much less modded.

Mine -

EGT limit 1350, alarm 1200
Boost limit 40, alarm 38
Turbo Timer at 270*F

But that doesn't mean much, since I seem to change it daily.

It's never gone off? Are you running level 5? My dad can't hardly use level five because of high egts. He has the HOT upgrade and can't run that level at all. It goes to 1500degrees in about 100ft.

How much does the HOT level cost?

100 bucks, and you have to mail it away, unless yours is a new one that has a lock feature that you can buy the code and insert it yourself

My truck is a work truck, not a race car, i have never even tried level 5, I am skered. I have only ever had it in level 2 or 3 and hauled some very heavy loads and never had the egt's climb reach 1300. But like i said this truck is used for work, not a hot rod. I was going for fuel mileage, extra power for towing, gauges, and the turbo timer. Any advice on what to set the turbo max at?? What will they do stock??

Good for you on your use theology. With the equipment you have, I would not worry about the boost. You will never reach a dangerous level. I am a bit forgetful on the number but I think if you hit 32 stock, you are really up there. Just set her at 38 and forget about it. I am going to add the quad boost fooler to mine and set it for 40. According to Quad, 40 psi is no problem with stock studs and gaskets.

If the connections in the steering column weren't connected correctly the tuck wouldn't start right?

Are you not stepping on the brake when you shut it off. The brake will cancel the turbo timer. First one we installed at the shop a while back we were wondering the same thing because the Remote starts with TT you need to step on the brake then shut it off for it to work.

No I am not hitting the brake. It works about 1/2 the time.

I called Edge and they will send me a new cable for the turbo timer. Nothing better than good customer service..
