been looking for a 06 with an open center floor for ~month.

only way is Laramie with Elec shift on fly for 4x4.

bought a 2wd tonite due rebates & stuff. dealer really wanted to move it.

anyways, sure enough, has a HUGE floor mounted cup holder that only holds tiny cups,
and one HUGE holder on the Passenger side.

doesn't the Dad usually drive? and drink the BIG soda?
why is the big holder on the passenger side?

and there's ZERO freaking lite down there, hard to get soda in far cup holder at hiway speeds.

my 04 had a lite, did bulbs become more expensive all sudden?

so then, go to open bottom of center arm rest, guess what?

heck, i guess it don't open no more.

what the (*&^^%????

guess I will buy a 04 bottom from a junk yard.

the 06 bottom is very shallow, also.

Bought an 05 instead of 06 for the warranty and that stupid center console cup holder on 06's what the heck were they thinking?? cup holder on 05 folds up and out of the way when i need the room for someones feet down there!!

This is all a person needs right there hands down. You open up your center console and it slips over the front of it and now you have two nice cup holders right at the end of your center console.

The bottom storage piece I think was an option. The electronic 4x4 could be found in the SLT's I have one. And how did you go from wanting a 4x4 to a 2wd. That makes no sense unless you live in FL

I rode 4 hours in it last night, trying to find the cup holder in the dark.

put a hour or so in it this morning, trying to get my soda (in a koozie) to fit in one of those stupid holes. it don't fit any of them.

Geno's will sell one of those today.

you guys with the fold up cup holder have it great - this floor this is junk - it is "one size fits all - really fits none"

about the only thing that will fit in the 2 small holes is a soda can by itself with no koozie (don't stay cool down here)

Me too, on my 04.5. The cub smoothie is great for drinks, keys, credit card receipts, change, whatever. And, I still have the nice large double drink holder that flips out of the dash too. Life is good.

Yeah, I just picked up my '07 yesterday and found the useless cupholders to be just that, 'useless'.

Will be ordering other holder from Geno's today myself.

The Mega's HVAC goes under the center cup console, how get vents in the rear.

guess that is why have the console in Mega's - to cover the air tubes.

the Geno's is worth the AC going to the rear. had 3 sweaty kids in there this weekend, there were cooled off ASAP - without wife freezing to death

Mine has a light down there!! I agree about the dumb design but my cup sits in the big holder. The passenger will just have to hold their drink if I allow them to enter the truck with one...

Actually, there's at least one other way. My '06 4x4 electric shift SLT has an open floor and a fold out cupholder. I ordered the truck with NO CARPET. That's right-it has rubber floormat. I wanted a console, and got none. I didn't know that the truck would have no console-it never crossed my mind to ask. I guess I just figured it would have the same setup as a truck with carpet. The other thing the rubber flooring affected is the rear seat cupholder-there is none. The cutout is there in the floor, but the rubber flooring simply goes over it with no cutout.

I had an F-150 that had no light in the cup holder like you mention. I bought a red LED and wired it in the side of each cup holder where the drink would not hit it. Worked like a champ.
