06 or 07 2500?

I am in the market for a megacab. I want the 5.9. WIth all else being equal, is there any differences or reason to go with the 06 or early 07? Havent really found much differences between the two, just curious to what all of you thought.

I have an 07 with 5.9 and have been extremely happy. Other than head and tail lights I don't know of any differences. Some 06's had issues with turn signals dealing with trailer wiring. A search on here deals with those issues.

If you're looking for an auto, I think they're identical trucks except what was mentioned above.
6speed trucks, the later '07 5.9L trucks have a slightly higher? lower? whatever...overdrive ratio, lowers the rpms in OD by 150rpms IIRC.

The 06's and 07's also have a MAJOR difference in the Way the ECM works as well. THe 06's did not have the "Can Bus' system? Not too sure of the wording on it but there is a HUGE difference in the way the ECM communicates with the sensors on the truck...

So, maybe I am just not very eduacated on the topic, but what does this mean?
Is one better than the other? Is there problems or advantages to either one? after the comments here about seats and trailer package wiring, I think i am leaning towards the 07. What would you guys do?

I am not an expert on the ECM deal, it was my post. However the way it was explained to me was that you needed an entirely different Code reader too. Something abut the Ecm sending an electrical symbol, and with the 07 it sends a PULSE. I have owned dodges almost every year since 89 and I like my 06 and 07..

Does this make any difference in performance? Mileage? Did you prefer the 06 or 07 for one reason or another?

The way it stands now, I think I will try to find an 07, unless I frind a great deal on an 06.

Never made any difference to me, feels the same and mileage is the same. Never had problems with trailer wiring etc.

Yeah there are some interesting differences but I wouldn't hold out for an 07 if you find a nice 06.
