squeek,squeek,squeek... U-Joints already .....36,000 miles

climb under to have a look and DOGG ...the rear main or front of the
tranny (TC) has a MAJOR leak front of Bell Housing is covered...BUT not wet enough to tell what it is. Just had it in for Tranny fluid and filter change and they didn't say anything...

It's major leak but you can't tell what kind of fluid it is?

Check the oil level, as well as tranny fluid & engine coolant... have had all 3 of these drip on me while wrenching under the bellhousing.

Sorry to hear about your U-joints - are you sure that's what the noise is?

There are two hose clamps on a 5/8 coolant line, down on the side of the engine by the turbo, which are known to start seeping after a while.

The result is coolant dripping off the bottom of the bell housing.

If there's any moisture there, try snugging those up.

Is your coolant bottle showing low? I would agree with Jeff most likely coolant leaking.

Same here. Tightened mine up, good as new.

The CTD cooling system runs awfully high pressures.

Is that what it turned out to be, then?

I just thought it might be one of the simple, known problems that would only take a second to check.

When my truck was dripping, I couldn't for the life of me tell where it was coming from- I was wondering about the head gasket- until I searched here and found several threads about that hose.
