Question 05 auto transmission Question

Can someone tell me what, if any are the differences in the 05 48RE and the previous 3rd gen auto transmissions?I was told that some changes were done to the internals but don't know what they are.Transmission experts where are you?

I've got some old literature at work on this topic. Off the top of my head the torque convertor is better. The 48 is set up for firmer shifts. The 48 can achieve lockup in manual 2nd.

Also in the '05, Tow/Haul does not lock out OD. It just changes shift patterns.

Any word floating around if Dodge is going to do the right thing and offer a kit to upgrade the '05 tow/haul to operate like the '06 tow/haul allowing the ability to lock out O/D in tow/haul mode? I have a hard time believing GM can do it and DC doesn't have the ability or knowledge to offer the same.
