"048" coils
Got some new upgrades for my truck. First was to take care of the sagging inadequate factory coils
Here is the before
New coils and rubber coil isolators
I updated to the "048" plow prep springs, here they are next to the stockers. "048" is on the right in this pic
Here you can really see the beef on the "048" compared to stock diesel spring
Then I tore out the originals and prepped the coil buckets with some scotch brite and hit them with some Krylon
Anybody thinking about doing this, it wasn't that bad. I just unhooked the swaybar, unbolt the shock on one side and allow the axle to droop and the coil comes right out
Here is the new coil installed, I ordered new Bilstein 5100's but they were not shipped yet so they will get installed ASAP
Make sure you seat the coil with the end between the link bar anchors
Here is after
I netted about 1.5", but the ride quality is nice and firm now, not like before as it always seemed like I was on marshmallows.
To finish it off some 3rd gen wheels with new Hankook Dynapro AT-M
Next week I'll install the Bilsteins and add the one ton rear wheel cylinders

Excellent!
Nice Truck! Thanks for writing it up and posting pics! I'm going to be doing some work on my '01 front end very soon, and this was very helpful.
I know most people here wouldn't want to do it, but I'm taking the leveling kit OUT of the front end, then dropping the rear to match.
