The Dodge seat belt chimes really are irritating. >

When you are constantly getting in and out the truck to open and close stock gates the chimes drive you crazy. I want to disable them. The red light is sufficient regulations.

On the Fords you can disable the seat belt chime by using the key and ignition switch in code form to turn them off. Instructions are in the manual. Anyone know if the Dodge chime can be disabled?

Unfortunately the chime is built into the instrument cluster. You could disable the driver's door switch and/or seatbelt switch. No one needs to be told if their seatbelt is on, it couldn't be much more obvious. And it's usually pretty obvious if the door isn't shut (though you'll lose the detection for leaving keys in the ignition or the lights on).

Re:04' Chimes

I couldn't agree more. I was just coming back from a job last night with my father in the passenger seat, and I said, "Does your's have that ------- chime? I'm gonna find it and rip it out tonight." Well, I couldn't find it, and don't think I will tear the cab apart to get at it. I've pulled them from every other vehicle we've owned.

Good news boys!

I have egg on my face. I read the manual (finally) and buried in there under "Seat Belt" minder is the program change instructions. I did it by using "key ignition on" and latching and unlatching the belt per the manual to remove the chime. 8)
