03 wierd idle

03 wierd idle

Got an 03 manual and i have been noticing that when i start it in the morning or if i go to dinner and come out if i sit there for a few min to let it warm up i can hear the idle change. It kinda makes the sound of when ur ac pump kicks on and off and the idle changes. But i have nothing turned on no heater or head lights. i only have 50,000 miles on the truck and ideas what it could be?

Sounds like the engine intake heater grid is cycling. Perfectly normal.

if your volt gauge drops down to 9ish and then back up it is your grid heater like said above

OK that would make sense now.. i live in Montana and the temp is kinda cold out lately and that's when i started noticing it thanks alot

Just a guess but is it your cold high idle? I have a 03 and when I start it in the morning to warm up it does the same thing that you are describing. Just a thought HTH?
