:- I have a 3500 with HO and a six speed and 315's. Not happy with the stock shocks. Anyone had any luck with locating aftermarket shocks like Bilstein or Rancho? Thanks.

I FINALLY found the part numbers for the Rancho 5000's and man did it ever make a world of difference on my rig. The stock shocks were all but gone and the thing was to keep straight on the gravel roads I live off of....never mind bad highways at 70+ mph! The front shocks are the same part number as the 2001-2002 MY, the rears are totally different (GM part number...go figure). The part number for the rears escapes me right now, but do a search and you'll see the thread where someone on this board gives the part numbers. You could also do a search on the Rancho web site under "application chart"....it's now updated to include the 2003's. It only took me the better part of a year to get the right numbers....not 1 single aftermarket company could help me 2 weeks ago...even the Rancho tech line didn't have a part number???

Turbo, I sure would like to have those part#'s, if you get the time.

The Rancho application guide only lists #'s for the 2003 2500, not the 1 ton.

I called Rancho, they said no shocks for the 3500, with or without a 2" lift, and no immediate plans to produce one.

I asked if the shocks for the 2500 and 2" lift might fit the 3500 as well. They said no- that the OEM replacements for the unlifted 3/4 and 1 ton were different as well. I was welcome to try it, but the would not warrantee the shocks if I did.

Your in luck, I brought them with me to work tonight. I don't know who you spoke with, but the tech guy gave me these numbers for my 3500 SRW??? Fit GREAT and the ride is wonderfull both on and off road!

Front: RS5221
Rear: RS5269

RS 99221 front
RS-99274 rear

Supposed to be shipt this week. for a one ton dually

Thanks Turbo, I've actually talked to Rancho on a couple of different occasions and always gotten the same answer- no shocks for the 1 ton.

I'm wanting to go with the RSX's, so I guess part #'s 99221 and 99269 should correspond.

I'll let y'all know how it works out.

I would go with the 99274 in the rear they are rated for 8800# and over. also be careful of the travel, the first round of shocks 4-wheel parts sent me were 99197 & 198 they were for 8800# and under and they did not have enough travel. got the 99221F and 992274R and they seem to be fine.. Rancho dude says it's the travel that you have to worry about with the new axles. both of these shocks are for a lifted 2002. and they just make the travel specs. of a stock 2003. but so far I love them. but did notice that the first set 197's & 198's seem to ride smoother. but didn't have the travel, I could hear them bang in the rear when going down bumpy roads.
