'03 CTD, 2 PCMS or 1?

Hey guys...I always get this backwards:

I know the 03-04 has either 1 or 2 PCM/ECM and the 04.5+ have 1 or 2 PCM/ECM

Im thinking the '03-04 has 2 PCM's and teh 04.5+ have 1.

So, experts, which is it?

My 2007 has one biggie on the side of the motor with a 50pin and a 60 pin plug going in to it. Can't say if late 04 is the same. Think they are. If you have an 03 just pop the hood and take a look.

Well, from what I understand, the auto's DO have 2 computers (03-04) and manual only has one, and that is why I simply cant just look at my truck.
Reason:

I am doing a swap from my NV5600 over to an automatic (again, mine is an '03), and Ineed to know if I need to pick up another PCM to run the automatic, OR, I just simply need to have mine reflashed.

If the 03-04 auto has 2 PCM's, and I go out and look at my truck, safe for me to ASSUME the 03-04 only has 1.

And the other reason I need to know what year models have different PCM's, is because if I do a swap with someone (say they have on '05), would I be able to just take thier computer and swap it with mine? See what I am getting at?

Basically, how I understand it is this, and I am just looking for confirmation from teh "experts".

The 03-04 (auto) has 2 PCM's, while the manual has only 1. The 04.5+ have only 1 (both manual AND auto) PCM, and if I find someoneo to do the swap with, and they have an 04.5 and up, then we would BOTH need to find a solution for the PCM's (I would need to locate a 03-04 auto PCM) and he would have to locate a manual PCM for his, or have his reflashed.

So, obviously, if I find someone with a 03-04 wanting to do teh swap, would be ALOT easier, and jsut yank everything off my truck and his truck, and put mine on his, and his on mine..

I just need confirmation for what I THINK is what I have to do. Make any more sense?

The '03-04 auto's will have one ECM (engine) and one PCM (powertrain). The manual version will only have the ECM.

Thread back from the dead...thanks Mikey B.

I went standalone for my swap. Everyone that was selling 03-04 auto trans PCM and wiring harness wanted kidney's and your first born child. So, went the aftermarket route and went stand alone.
I actually put a manual valve body in first until that got old soon after.
