thanks a lot guys for all ur help with my dads truck. amazing the head aches a fualty fuel sending unit will cause u. truck read a little bit above a 1/4 tank put 5 gallons of fuel in it hasnt missed a beet running great

that's why you should stay with the mechanical gauges. Seen too many electric sending units fail.
