'01 Turbo going?
Did some research, have a couple of questions, help is appreciated. My turbo is making that electric clipper/razor/whistle sound. It's sporadic but only happens in 1st and 2nd gear. I am going to check for boost leaks, turbine and compressor wheels, make sure it's getting oil tonight. Started after I pulled my trailer back from hunting, not on the trip up, but the trip back down.
I will start from stop, I can hear the spool up, then a half second later I get the noise, all the way through second gear (outlet side?). Louder if I hit the pedal harder, no load. It appears that I have an HY35 turbo, but would a hx35 work from a manual should I need to replace? Anyone know where to go online for a rebuild kit or these bushings off the oil inlet I read about? The inconsistency in terms of it not happening every time leads me to believe it's not getting oil for whatever reason. The fact that it only happens in 1st and 2nd leads me to believe it's a boost leak. Any opinions?
Thanks.

EGR or Wastegate?
So no responses.....
Checked compressor wheel, boost leaks, turbine, housing and shaft. Nothing. Everything looks and feels good. As the temps are dropping here the problem (noise) is getting worse. Could this be the wastegate or EGR problem causing the noise? Also, it seems to be "letting off more air" in 1st and 2nd gear and now have a mild case of turbo bark. Thinking maybe the wastegate is too tight or loose. Anything please?
