01 low boost code

My brothers friend has and 01 that is not boosting. It is giving him a low boost code, what could cause this. I told him to check his shaft to see if it has any play. I also told him to check the clamps and boots on his intercooler tubes. What else could it be.

Could be the sensor itself, the MAP sensor.

Does he have a boost guage to verify the low boost?

No, But he said it is a dog. No power what so ever, I kinda think his turbo may have craped out.

Diffenitely sounds like a MAP sensor. I've have the same problem. Check the plug and wires to the sensor. But most likely it's the MAP sensor. Don't go to Dodge for a new one. They want around $150 for one. I got mine from Cummins West here in San Diego. Or check out www.hoeslidiesel.com It was only about $70.........

does he know the exact code number? because I get a p0236 sometimes, makes the truck go into dummy mode (has no power) until I clear it, the code is (Boost circuit low voltage) or something to that nature, talked to a few people and they say its meaningless, so check the code first, but with a check engine light on the truck might go to what I call "dummy mode" just imo

The code his truck is throwing will not clear. It comes back everytime.
