01 factory rims will fit?

I have a set of factory aluminum wheels for my 3/4 ton. They are 16x8. I have them listed for sale and people with older trucks want to know if they will fit there 3/4 ton. Concerns revolve around drum brakes vs disc. I called the local dealer and they were only able to verify 00-02. I live rural and people want to know before they drive out. I Think they should fit all second generation trucks. Thanks for your help

They will fit if the rear is dana 70 if dana 80 you have to turn the outter diameter of the rear drum down on a lathe it's a close fit but it does work the dana 70 has smaller diameter brakes so no problem.

will not fit dana 70 or 80 rear drums. I sold a set to a friend with a 99 and the drums are to big. some people have machined down the drums to fit.

They won't' fit unless truck is a 2001.5, even the drum brakes they were designed differently.

tell them to get 3rd gen 17", they'll fit perfect. I fact on 3rd gen section there's a guy asking if the 16" can fit his truck, they might be able to swap.

Even better, but if you compare the rear drums of the 2 ( aluminum and not) you will see the difference in brakes. The aluminum version and narrower in diameter but thicker (wider shoes).

My Dad and I tried this also. He has a 98 with a dana 80 and the 01.5 rims wouldn't fit. How much machining needs to be done? And will it affect the performance of the drum?

I honestly wouldn't do it. Why risking to crack under heat and wreck everything.

17" rims from 2nd gen are cheap enough, look at classifieds, there's a guy selling them with good tires for $ 450
