'01 Engine Oil Leak ??
Hey board:
I seem to have a pretty good oil leak on my cummins, and I'm having a hard time narrowing it down. It most certainly is engine oil, and appears to be sourcing from someplace up in the vicinity of my ps pump/ vp 44. Trickles down, and has managed to make everything underneath very oily/dirty. Anybody have any idea what this is? I want this fixed......cant seem to find it myself, and really dont want to take the truck to the dealer if I dont have to.
Thanks for any insight

Sounds like your vacuum pump. They tend to leak where the power steering pump bolts into them. Fixinrams.com has a rebuild kit and rebuilt pumps that are the way to go.

Vaccum pump seals for sure
Replaced them on mine
Kind of a time consuming PIA project, but not really that difficult.
I think the seal kit(with all seals) from Dodge is like $65

vacuume pump seal
you can get a seal kit from cummins for under $10 and it has ALL the seals and gaskets with instructions for the repair it takes 2 hrs if you good with wrenches longer if not ..you dont need to pull the PS pump just seperate and be real carefull not to hurt the new seal when installing the PS back on!
YES under $10, part #4089742 seal kit
I have not had the leak come back !
