With the OD reading total miles, not trip miles. Turn key to on/run position. Push and hold trip button for about 6 seconds or until it displays hours on the OD readout.

Not trying to hijack your thread but thought this might be a good place to ask: Anyone know what a good average number of hours is for an '06?

Just depends on the daily driving habits. If you are not in city stop and go driving everyday, then 40 miles per hour would be good. If you are a road truck only then could be higher. I am in stop and go traffic everyday. Weekends are where I put most miles, but still can not make up for the daily stop and go. At 71k+ I average about 30 miles per hour.

did it says 3,000 and some hours only has 66,000 miles on it think its been is traffis alot haha
